Yeah, that's right. I forgot that one. They have some strange things in Star Wars. Do you remember the horses and the rabbits and other earthly animals they had in the Ewok movies?
Yeah, and it's pretty sure that they have used those "real-world" animals just cause of the pretty low budget (I mean, it was just TV movies).
The interesting thing is that in the excellent book "The Wildlife of Star Wars" (a must-have for every SW creature fan), the Ewok ponys and horses are described as "equus", "found in several planets", and have a "mysterious" origin.
I've always loved the reference books just for that: they always explain all the strange things (and even the contradictions) of the SW universe in really well done explanations.
