Just checked the "Watch without Oola" option on my actual DVD player.

On my computer, the edit was instantaneous, and worked great. On my DVD player, there's a pause of several seconds while the player finds the next chapter.

Sigh.

And this is why seamless branching sucks.

Oh well, it's still watchable. Hope the break plays quicker on other players. It certainly plays fine on the computer.

Hey OCP, these sort of things will vary from player to player, with computer drives having a bigger cache, and so better 'performance'. The other thing to remember is using DVD Studio Pro, you're not doing "true seamless branching", and so thats why your branching isn't seamless. I believe you can get a better effect with DVD After Edit, but with DVDSP on it's own, you're doing a playlist, pure and simple.

If it's as half as good as ANH & ESB I'm sure the final product is excellent

Oh, Mr. Gilchrist, I am curious. I heard you have a cache of DVD covers for your films somewhere on the net. Where might I find them? Also, I may just order the DVDs from you (that whole "exchange of labor for monetary restitution" thing is actually working!), since it seems to be much faster (I should e-mail you about that, I suppose). However, I'll have to convince my grandparents that you're not a con-artist (it took them a year before they trusted our Pastor enough to put money in the offering plate). If I do order them, I will pay you the whatever amount you request (cash, check, or credit card?).

First copies have been mailed out. Those of you who only asked me for the Jedi single layer disc alone, and live in the U.S., your copies have been mailed, look for them soon. More complicated orders will be handled soon.

Those of you who asked me for the Classic Edition trilogy (maybe with Deleted Magic enclosed), your copies were mailed today. A big batch.

Anyone with a more complicated order, it's coming soon.

That one is my favorite - I had never seen the poster before that it was based on. It really has a very mythic quality to it; makes you see the characters in a slightly different way. Great use of colors and arrangement of figures - having the falcon cutting diagonally over the cloud city is neat.

Since I'm a big animation fan, I have indeed heard of it, but haven't seen it. I definitely would be interested. I'll add that to the list of things to grab when they hit the net. These discs look great judging by the pics. I'll have to get ahold of them when available.
Nice work.

Yeah, I added a glow to the text and did some other fun stuff to it.

I'll do some more fun stuff to Coov's three Jedi covers, when I have time. =)

>>That one is my favorite - I had never seen the poster before that it was based on.

=) It took a lot of image editing to make that one work. I changed the colors a lot, and combined two versions of the poster. Now there's a nice scan of it in the Sansweet Covers book - wish I'd had that ...

More sent out today, with an emphasis on Return of the Ewok.

Some bad news -

I've learned that the cheap Linkyo printable DVD-Rs I used for some of this release may not be compatible with all players. Particularly Panasonic players. I've already received one or two complaints about these discs from the past month or so, and I'm not happy that I used them for much of the Jedi rollout. I've gone and ordered new discs today, from Ritek, which I used on previous releases.

I don't want to just throw 200 Linkyo discs away, but I'm definitely worried about their compatibility. I will use the Ritek ones from now on, and try to mix them with the Linkyo discs only occasionally.

If one of your discs is not compatible with your player, either reburn it on your own media, or ask me for a replacement.
