If you’ve seen it you know what a great film it is. If you haven’t, it’s a 1968 film made by britsh director Lindsay Anderson and starring Malcolm McDowell. Both Clockwork Orange and If… can be hailed as great films, and two of the best films Malcolm McDowell has ever done in all his body of work. However unlike Clockwork Orange, If… never received the attention it deserves (although like Blade Runner it also has a huge cult following).

If… is like many of those great films that has not been given ANY dvd release so far. To that end I am putting together an If… collection. It will feature two versions of the film, the first is the american version (sourced from laserdisc), the second is the UK version which is longer and has different scenes, the truer version of the two.

I would also like to know if anyone has anything related to this film. I would also like to get a better version of the UK version if possible, otherwise I will just use what I have. Lastly, this collection will be presented in the ratio available, it’s a “Metroscope” film so in this case 1.75 :1, and the dvd will be NTSC.

Does anyone have anything to add to this? Anyone interested?
