By the way, what's up with the aspect ratio of Blade Runner? What ratio was it shot in?

sounds cool to me man, better to do it nicely, instead of rushing. Enjoy your vacation.
I'm fiddling with menus in Adobe Encore Dvd right now, and can email you some ideas,
if you are in the mood to check them out.

2.35:1

I asked that because it doesn't appear to be shot in 2.35:1 when it is played.

It's most definitely in 2.35:1.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

It probably was. But, when viewing the DVD on a computer, the image is not a complete rectangle across the screen as every other widescreen film I've seen. Maybe it was due to the formatting on the DVD, but when viewed on a computer the image appears as if it is cut off at about an inch from each side of the screen. (See the DVD screenshots in the first few posts in this thread.)

From what im told, because it was one of the first dvd's they tried to compensate for overscan. Stupid idea.

No one does because I haven't "released" it yet.

How's the video on your version? I downloaded the HD files a while back and made a simple conversion for myself. I used the HDTV2DVD program that you mentioned but I noticed my results were a little off. I'll describe it as best as I can. Whenever there's a moving shot or something moving within a shot (for example, the ceiling fan in the first scene), the motion isn't very smooth as though frames were dropped or something (though I don't know if this is the actual problem). Does your version have this problem?

Not sure what else on the second disc. I don't have much more room at this point. Might just put some DVD-Rom bonus features on there.

You might consider putting the full soundtrack on the DVD-ROM features.

Ha. I'm putting a lossless version of the Gongo soundtrack on there. Already ahead of you.

There was a different version on the other 2 disc set but it was atrocious. I think it was called the Esper version. It had sound effects and all sorts of other shit in it. Pointless.

BTW, i got the menu screens today so I'll be putting it together and hopefully seeding this weekend!!!

Shifty, I haven't noticed any problems. I just watched a few small clips on my PC but didn't see anything weird. It definitely looked good enough to hold me over until I get a blu-ray burner

well ya'll....

The first disc is done!

The movie looks AND sounds fantastic. light years better than the officially released version. Hopefully I will have it seeding either tomorrow or sunday.

Great news! thanks for sharing. Any chance of posting screen grabs of the menus, and a few choice
scene shots? Where are you gonna seed this? Myspleen?

Myspleen.

And I'd rather not ruin the surprise.

The menu shots and cover artwork are all being done by bunnydojo (who did The Game and Se7en for me).

Nice. Bunnydojo does good work - I've got a few covers from back when DVDCA was still around by him. He's done a great one for Snatch on Dag's site, but I'm illiterate as to how to upload there, and don't have the money to buy credits.

I'm not sure if I missed this being asked already, but is this the "Director's Cut" or the original theatrical version?
What do you mean there's no ice? I gotta drink this coffee hot?!

Aaargh! Being a big fan of BR, I was waiting for this project for a long long time and I won't be able to downlaod it.....Will it be possible to have a copy in the near future?

Done!!!

As soon as I get the cover artwork, I can start seeding it. I'm hoping to have it up by tonight...latest, tomorrow.

I could always seed it without the cover art but people seem to be pretty anal about that so I might as well wait.
