To me, the entire fireplace scene is so beyond help, it should go. Restoring the deleted padme scenes is a cool idea, though-not because they're such great scenes (cause they ain't), but because they serve the love story better. Meeting a girl's parents and seeing her room is simple and relatable. "I'm a senator, you're a jedi blah blah"etc. is not. (don't you just hate when the girls' a senator, and you're a jedi? cause, we've all been there, brother).
I actually feel that Clones is the only movie in need of changes, although if hell froze over I'd love to see Jedi get one big, probably impossible change. First, Boba Fett crawls out of the sarlaac as the skiff leaves. He tracks Han to Endor. Then use the deleted bunker shootout with Fett digitally replacing the stormtroopers. (Lucas cut out a scene in which Han and some rebels come across a couple stormtroopers in the bunker and shoot it out. See pictures on Starwarz.com). Have the troopers replaced with Fett (or pick one trooper to replace with Fett and keep the others). Maybe a short hand-to-hand struggle with Chewie vs. Fett (if a convincing digital Chewie can be done someday, just in a few quick, blurry Bourne Supremacy shots), ending with Chewie cracking open Fett's chest armor, so Han can blast him (a la Grievous). There should be plenty of shots of Harrison Ford pointing and shooting that could be cannibalized.

Nice idea with Fett...but the probability of something like that happening is, as you said, the same as hell freezing over.

As for the family scenes, they're not logical to put in the movie for one very simple reason: she's gone to Naboo to hide. Her parents' house would be the logical place for a bounty hunter to look...if he were looking for her. I personally don't think they help the love story at all, because they don't deal with the issues that are facing the couple if they wanted to ultimately get together, which are their places in society...
The family scenes slow the movie down too much IMO, and not give any progress. Plus the scenes themselves aren't all that in the first place.

The Fett scene would be difficult, but not impossible. It would probably be do-able in a decent 3D program if it's made a bit more subtle to disguise the fact that it's CG. Killing off Fett would not work since it pretty much ruins everything EU. I know that not all EU is considered canon, but by now there are some facts that are agreed on. Fett survives, Han and Leia have Jacen, Jaina and Anakin, Luke sets up a Jedi temple on Yavin etc. But doing something simple and subtle, like a hand coming out of the Sarlacc, would work.
"The things that stick in my mind and make me laugh were, like, memos worried about whether or not the Wookie should have pants. They're looking at this thing and saying, "Couldn't he have some lederhosen?" This is great. Of all the things to worry about, the Wookie has no pants." -Mark Hamill

I don't know how your going to do the stuff you want to do with the fireplace scene... Apart from reshoots... Also, if your against adding the family scenes to the movie then, you should definatly take out the meeting with the queen scene. Why? Well, going to your parents house while your in hiding is one thing. Going to a meeting with Senators and, a Queen while your double is one Coruscant is a tottally different roll of dice. Hell, in that one scene she just gave up her cover and, she can't be sure that they won't tell anyone she's there. If she goes to her Parents well, they know she's in danger so, they probably won't tell anyone she's there. Plus, there doesn't seem to be a [reliable] phone book of sorts in the Star Wars galaxy. Hell, an entire Planet got deleted from the only Library we've seen. For all we know her Parents house is listed on Uttapou/not in any records at all. Plus, in TPM that's where the holophone of sorts is. Someone from Coruscant could have called at any moment.

Hi! I'm working on a project called "Shroud of the Dark Side", which will fit into a new fan-created PT trilogy. Among other things, Anakin and Lama-Su are being redubbed with different lines and actors. I was browsing your site, and I read your "Last Mandalorian" idea for Lama-Su. This is quite useful for me because I was in the middle of writing Lama-Su's dialogue. Thanks a lot for that idea! I've using that idea for the Lama-Su lines in "Shroud of the Dark Side." If you'd like some possible credit, please PM me with your name.

Thanks!

To be honest, it seems like a lot of the changes for the OT are unnecessary, as episodes 4,5, & 6 are pretty consisten in and of themselves.

The prequels however shouldnt have had so many loose ends that were never tied up. I havent read through your stuff on the PT, but if anything, changes should be made to those.

Hehe, take a look at the AOTC and ROTS pages and tell me if those are enough...

And yeah, I agree with you about the tying-up the loose ends, I made a clear point of that in the ROTS intro. I tried to take care of that through some of my changes. Take a look at the last one, the alternate ending. Although I think it's impossible to be made and I'm not sure if it would really be effective, but I think it logically takes care of the the things that have to be tied up.

As for the OT, yeah I know a lot of the changes a bit too much, but some are pretty much mandatory. Like lightsaber effects, etc.

Heeey! So it looks like you guys are finally getting what you've been asking for!! Congrats! This site has officially succeeded in doing something what it set out to do! Awesome!

So now with the O-OT coming out to DVD, the only concern on my mind is the other half of the DVD boxed set, namely the 2004 editions of the OT. I personally don't think buying these movies again is worth it, especially with all the mistakes. I think the main focus of LFL right now would be to FIX UP the OT to and release it with the O-OT in an official, FINAL, OT boxed set. Releasing it in it's current form would not be a good idea IMO.

Any thoughts?

BTW, I think LFL took my idea from my very first post...lol!
