Great TV series.

Good movie if you walk in blind. Great movie if you've seen the series first.

The DVD is selling like mad. I expect further Firefly material, whether it's theatrical, straight-to-video, or a second season on Showtime.

Universal has Serenity on their launch list for HD-DVD in March. I wish they'd go BluRay already. They're the only studio that hasn't. Dumbasses.

I'm now not sure if I want to see anymore Firefly material because I just don't see how it will be as good without... well, you know. And since the long arm of the alliance seems to have suddenly been dealt a strong blow, it just doesn't seem like it'll be the same 'verse anymore. And obviously, hiding the Tams is no longer the issue it was anymore. Serenity is awesome, but I would have appreciated it much more if it had happened after Firefly had gone on for several seasons. The nine of them made such an awesome family together. The relationships between them were wonderful. But now all I can think about how they were only together for several months, a very, very brief time to be a family. And so much more could have been done.

Serenity, in my opinion, was a wonderful conclusion, but it just came too soon.

EDIT: By the way, you said the DVDs were selling like hotcakes. How well is it doing? Has Universal finally managed to make its money back? Can we call it a success? Because I'm very sad how relatively poorly it performed in theatres (not that I helped, sadly, as I wanted to see Firefly first, and I'm very glad I did). Part of me does want it to continue in some way. But mostly I just feel that something this good deserves to have one big success, because it's been kicked around and underappreciated its entire existance.
