I have also been thinking about this, a lot actually recently. In terms of your points I fully agree and would make it a more natural fit for Boba, love the ending idea but I’m not sure if we’re there yet with AI as that would be very AI heavy without a scene template to work from. Might be easier adding a camera shot from behind of Boba approaching Grogu to make it less content heavy only showing his legs as he approaches then a shot of his visor or something before taking him to Luke as AI jank would break the immersion of a very emotional scene. Could have a Slave 1 cockpit scene with a sad Grogu to break it up a bit. In an ideal world if it works absolutely behind this. May be easier to keep it minimal with Luke too for the handover, echo Revenge of the Sith’s ending when kenobi gives Luke to Beru and Owen, no words but with a strong score prior to credits.

The only extras I would add/change would be the Rotta involvement (I don’t know why i have such a vendetta against him, but I just don’t like this chatty “bro” Hutt). I agree it is hard to remove him from the ending, but even with making him speak Huttese, consider Din not going after him after the arena match as he knows the Imperial he is after so Rotta is not seen again after the fight until he is seen captured.

I need to rewatch this and see if anything else comes to mind, but ultimately there is not a whole lot to work with and Din’s death would at least make this relevant.

Could Rotta be killed off? Especially if we want this to be the end of the Mandalorian’s wider story and adjacent characters, maybe Rotta could be killed while the twins are doing the mind flare thing.
