Its funny, that's been my worry about BSG as well as with just about any series that starts off seemingly with a 'direction'. The worry is that there really isn't a direction. I like the idea of a finite series... a television novella. I hope that the new BSG producers have said to themselves- "Look this is where we are going with this and in season number ___ we'll end it and it will be awesome!" Hell if they can keep this pace up for just like two more seasons and end the series I'd be a happy camper and would rewatch the series on DVD often. Too many series start out great for a couple of seasons and then the creators lose interest and the show becomes crap.

X-File I used to LOVE in the first 3 or so seasons. Each episodes was a stand alone 'monster' show perfectly in the vein of the original 'Nightstalker' or similar shows. You didn't have to watch them in order, they were well written, etc. Then individual writers started peppering scripts with the 'alien conspiracy' crap. Each put his or her own spin on it and when Carter had to (or decided to) start pulling these threads together it just became a mess and I personally found it uninteresting and nigh unwatchable. Which then in turn made me less interested in re-watching the first few seasons- kinda ruining the show for me.

So basically I pray that, like it says in the opening of BSG, 'They Have A Plan'.
