I think Anakin has rocks in his head for believing Sidious lie about saving Padme with Midichlorians. the speech is great and its mysterious and Ian as an actor plays it up.

Anakin as a character couldn’t be written worse. for the downfall and redemption you have to have a good man who is corrupted, a slow seduction. other than Padme insisting he is of pure heart and goodness, still good in him. you don’t see it in the movies.

There is no arc in the prequel other than sweet slave boy, jump ahead sullen jerk, then kill younglings.
