The only time I recall seeing Vader’s eyes is when he’s flying his TIE fighter in the first movie.
I refuse to dehumanize anyone. Your ethical/moral/political/religious views may be repugnant to me, but I strive to hold Luke 23:34 close to my heart.
Yeah, same for me.
While watching an episode of Fire Country, the episode called, “Best Mom in the World” a runaway kid looks just like a young Mark Hamill or a teenage Luke Skywalker.
Edit: I looked him up on IMDb, his name is Conor Sherry.
George Lucas won a Saturn Lifetime achievement award. Presented by Mark Hamill. I suppose after a lifetime of being a filmmaker he deserves some recognition.
RotJ 's final duel is minimalist and restrained, while RotS’s duel is maximalist and over-the-top. I used to think that reflected a change in George’s filmmaking philosophy away from “less is more”, but I’m starting to think it was done deliberately that way after all. RotJ has the minimalist morality play in a cold, dark, Spartan setting, while RotS has the big grand lava apocalypse. It’s kind of a brilliant contrast, actually.
The cuts on the budget for ROTJ are very obvious. From the mostly North American shoot, to fewer big sets. The script was much more ambitious two death stars, an imperial planet world. not in the script, George claims a Wookiee planet and a big ground battle.
there are most likely a dozen of alternate earths in the multiverse where lucus films made both tons of star wars movies and even tons of star wars tv series since 1977 during the lucus films era
earth 1 nowadays kinda reminds me of the star wars multiverse

In my opinion, Star Wars should approach the history of the Republic in a way similar to what France and Italy do with the history of their own republics.
In France, the First Republic lasted from 1792 to 1804, the Second Republic from 1848 to 1852, the Third Republic from 1870 to 1940, the Fourth Republic from 1946 to 1958, and the Fifth Republic has existed since 1958. Italy uses a somewhat similar terminology. The First Republic conventionally refers to the period from 1946 to 1994, while the political system that emerged from the major transformations of the early 1990s is commonly referred to as the Second Republic.
I think a similar system could be applied to the history of the Republic in the old EU. Instead of treating the entire history of the Republic as one continuous political entity, its major political transformations could be used to distinguish different incarnations of the Republic:
That’s a grand idea! Head canon accepted!
I’m just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe.
Star Wars has 3 eras: The eras are 1977-1983(pre Expanded Universe), (1983-2014) expanded universe, or (2014- now) Disney-bought version. Each are valid.
My movie reviews aren’t AI, they’re just written by someone who’s Neurodivergent. If you don’t like them, then simply don’t read them.
But Lucas had Kenobi say the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice, and the republic therefore lasted a 1000 generations. The prequel says 1000 years.

Maybe Obi-Wan remembered incorrectly, or it’s more of his from a certain point of view nonsense.

The Prequels never explicitly say that the Republic was founded a thousand years earlier. They simply say that there was a long period of peace in the Republic that lasted for a thousand years.
In Attack of the Clones, Palpatine says: “I will not let this Republic, which has stood for a thousand years, be split in two.” But that doesn’t necessarily mean that the Republic was founded a thousand years ago. It simply means that the Republic had remained united and in peace for a thousand years. There could have been huge conflicts before those thousand years. And in the old EU, there were in fact several major conflicts before that period.
i wonder what the disney verison of the next star wars trilogy will be about

Carrie Fisher would have been 70 today.
