A fantastic edit. I love Rebels but sometimes the ridiculous goofs and plot armour are a bit much. Your edit does well to address these issues by closing the ad breaks, reducing obvious exposition, and tightening up some of the more unbelievable moments in the action. This really helps maintain the pace of the show. I appreciate that Rebels isn’t Andor, but Rebels too often makes the Stormtroopers into objects of comic relief. Your edit is the most enjoyable (and least cringe inducing) way to watch the show. Also, the plex posters are amazing.
Star Wars isn’t Star Wars without an opening crawl and fanfare. I enjoy what you’ve done here by taking inspiration from EddieDean’s Clone Wars Refocused, but with your own spin on that style.
Were there any other audio tracks you considered for the opening crawl? “Alliance” from season one might make for a more rousing fanfare?
The timing of the opening crawl is quite fast, and makes it hard to read the text in time. Consider the same timing as CW: Refocused?
Sometimes too much context has been out of the episodes, so that they can be hard to understand for a first time viewer (or a viewer who hasn’t seen the show for several years). For example, in S2E3 by removing the opening scenes you lose too much context about why Ezra is flying off on his own. Why did you decide to cut those opening scenes?
Amazing work with the season 2 finale. I really can’t stand the helicopter lightsabers, so I appreciate you taking these out.
Would you consider reintroducing cut episodes as optional B side versions, as EddieDean did for Clone Wars episodes like S3E7 Assassin? I personally enjoy Legends of the Lasat and the episodes with Saw Gerrera, so I’ve been switching between your edit and the original Rebels for my current watch of the show.
