I have the chance to get my hands on a 35mm print of Spider-Man 2. I am thinking of sending this out for scanning if we have enough funding by tomorrow.
The target would be $700 to cover the cost.
We are currently sitting at $360 / $700. It needs a little push!

Just a small update, here’s the print!
I also have the Cinema DTS CDs, so we’ll have both the optical audio track and the DTS theatrical track!
Looking forward to this! One of the best superhero movies all time.
I’d love to see what it looks like. I dunno if the second is digitally sourced like the third film or was originally mastered on film. If it does, then I can’t wait to see more image that we weren’t supposed to see on official masters.
Hi, Spider-Man 2 was sourced from a 2.39:1 4K Digitial Intermedia (DI). The main difference between the print and the 4K UHD is the color grading, with the UHD having a slight green tint - this is very noticeable on skin tones.
The print has a tiny bit of extra image (5-8%?) as the UHD is slightly more cropped.

My favorite Raimi-Spidey is part 1. I’m not a big fan of Doc Ock.
Hi I’m happy to cover whatever’s left to get this funded. Im assuming it is still at $360/$700, so I’m assuming ~$340, but let me know the current shortfall and I’ll send it over.
One ask in return, if it’s possible: could I get the native raw scans? No color correction, no grading, no denoise or sharpening straight off the scanner in whatever the native output is (DPX/TIFF sequence, or the scanner’s raw format). Purely so I can poke at it in DaVinci and a few other tools on my end. Totally understand if the scanning house has restrictions on that, just figured I’d ask.
Also curious, what scanner are you sending it to?
And on that note: I have access to a 6K scanner myself, so if that’s ever useful for this print or anything down the line, it’s available.

To me, it’s the best scene of the trilogy (with the final scene of Spider 1 : “Who am I ? I am Spider-Man”, then switch to Spidey litterally flying into NYC ^^ )

Question : do you plan do make the release length compatible with other Bluray releases (if we want to add new audio languages) ?
Depends if the scan 24fps or 23.97fps?
