Concerning the 50's diner, I must say that I love the idea. First, it's a good hommage to American Graffiti (and the 50s of course), but the look in the film is really well done.

I don't understand how someone can say that it has no place in the SW universe. C'MON GUYS, Star Wars is, and has always been, a big hommage to retro-movies and retro-objects. I really don't see why it has no place in the SW universe, in the contrary!

Don't take it as an attack, but I think that many OT-fans, after have seen the entire OT, don't want to see any "new" SW stuff, don't want to see "unfamiliar" SW stuff. But, hey, what could be the point to do always the same things, over and over...

If you can't understand the presence of a 50's diner in the SW universe, I think that you've missed the "heart" itself of Star Wars. Too bad...
