I’m not “worked up” at all, LOL. I just think it’s super weird and bizarre that a very quick/cheap promo video about a release we already know is coming is being underscored by Kevin Spacey/House of Cards.

this isn’t like the “dozens of other non-restoration videos” in that most of those are either directly related to restoring Star Wars, or sharing other directly Star Wars related stuff that’s clearly going through a QC pass. (the re-recordings of the OT scores, for example)

This is like a fan-trailer at best (again, can’t really be anything but a promo!), but with a really misguided idea of what would make for a cool-sounding audio collage.

LOL, apparently not. How long has this channel been “shitposting” then? Again - I’m not “worked up” (the re-release is happening regardless what this channel ever posts again) but if the misunderstanding is centered in annoyance that I don’t know about secret shitposts… That’s pretty funny! And would have established some context I didn’t have since I wasn’t aware the channel was semi-regularly shitposting things along the lines of “lets make an audio collage out of Kevin Spacey quotes” for awhile now.

I dont’ get this response, really, I’m sorry! I’m not obsessed with Kevin Spacey - but basically the only thing you can make out in the video is him shouting “I WILL NOT YIELD” (which is also… a bizarre hook to hang this promo on).

I’m making myself pretty clear here, I think? At least I’m trying to! I don’t know what about my posts is causing so much confusion & consternation. As a promo, it’s not very good. As a shitpost (which I wasn’t aware was even an option before) it’s still… not great? It doesn’t make any sense and is centered around vocal clips from a non Star Wars tv show, from years past its last gasp of relevance culturally, being shouted by a guy who is primarily known for being a serial sex pest/abuser/accused rapist.

I’m not saying people have to share the same opinions as I do, I’m not even saying anything about anyone who says they like it (has anyone even said that yet?), or trying to be rude and/or dismissive based on that difference of opinion. I’m sharing my thoughts on this leaked promo video that maybe all of 50 people have seen so far, that I think missed the boat in a real weird way, and then responding to the folks responding to me 😃

What the hell is this??? Why is there Kevin Spacey? This is like if someone went all in on David S Pumpkins.

Update, the ALI channel is responding to our comments on the video, with some pretty hilarious responses. They’ve never responded to our comments before this.

I mean, my first inclination is that a fan has control of the channel now and is goofing around, but that would call into question just a metric ton of things I dont’ think anyone wants to call into question, LOL.

Along those same lines, direct evidence that whoever is behind the channel knows to come in here and check this thread especially is… saying something. They (so far as I know, I only just found out about the predilection for shitposts a couple hours ago, LOL) have never even responded to direct comments on their channel, right? But now they’re posting comments in their own comments section, to baffled posts on a completely separate messageboard that (IIRC) you have to have an account to even look at now?

So someone at the channel has an account here and instead of just posting here, is leaving responses to a thread people can’t see under an iMovie-lookin promo video starring Kevin Spacey.

All of this is stuff I kinda wish wasn’t made known to anyone, LOL, because the implication now is that at some point this stopped being a valid leak and just became weirdos online behaving weirdly for the attention of a handful of folks on this forum.
