Nope. I've been checking here every day and no one seems to have a copy but him. Hopefully he'll sign on soon.

I do not fear the Dark Side as you do.

He is our only hope.

Here's some interesting star wars art for you.

Nice painting, I'm guessing now we will have a debate about if vader/anakin should hold the place were luke sits at the table?

Those files are 150 dpi... 300 would be nice.

Galatians 2: 20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

I'm a newby with photoshop, but could you resize the image up to what you need it to be, or do you loose a significant amount of quality when you do that??

For the same reason upsampling LD isn't nearly as good as starting with HD, upsampling a 150dpi image in Photoshop isn't nearly as good as starting with 300dpi. The upsampling will produce something that's not as sharp or detailed as a scan (or capture) at that higher resolution.

I downloaded the manga in one of the big Star Wars comics torrents on Demonoid a few months back, the covers were there, not sure if they were higher res or not.

On a close look - they're more like painted sketches than actual paintings. There's very little detail in them. (ANH has a lot more detail, but is still loosely done.)

Lovely design though. Might be worth working with. If one wanted to take forever and incorporate at 50% intensity the actual stills these paintings are based on to add detail .... lol. What a waste of time that could be.

By the way - 1997 sarlaac in the Jedi one. =(

Hey people... how does one acquire high resolution pictures (let's say the poster for Return of the Jedi)
so one can make a high res DVD box...

because I really have no clue where to get high resolution pictures of posters and stuff... and some of you would.
Because I saw some great DVD cover art with better quality pictures than I could get...
please help me...!

Thanks for this great painting, eros!

Concerning the resolution of a cover, I personaly like to make them in 300dpi, but you know, on a personal inkjet printer, the differences between 150 and 300dpi are very very small... A friend of mine is a professional graphist, and he makes 300dpi documents only for a professional printing (I mean for big printers of printing companies), when he makes personal documents that will be printed on a personal printer, he makes them in 150dpi, and rarely in 300dpi.
Thanks anyway for those covers, Ell!

First of all, you guys make me sick....... just when I find/print the coolest set of covers, there's another set, and another........

Just kidding. Many thanks to all for the awesome covers, hosting & effort - very cool. I've resisted frequenting here for a few months, actually till after the holidays when I got a new printer. Now I get to go crazy & redo all my fan-edit sets & dvds.

Quick question. A while back there was some mention about printing on the dvds & sealing them with a spray.... I can't find that thread. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks again.

I remember copying that post for my own reference, but now I'm ticked since I can't find it on my backup (just reformatted my computer).

Anyhow, I remember the spray used was made by Krylon, I believe it was called Crystal Clear or something like that.

Eventually all 6 movies will be of the same design, I've yet to figure out what kind of art I want for the box set, and for that matter the image on the back of AOTC, but here's ANH for what i'm calling my "collectors edition"...I still need to tweek the spine, but otherwise it's finished.

I've been wondering what the current status on these was. Are you still planning on posting them when you're done?

EDIT: Oops, sorry, double post

My "spray method" tutorial is here. There are just a few pages in this thread. I recommend reading all of them. Should answer any questions you have about sealing the discs. I will add that I am now using Ridata G05 DVD-R. Ridata's printing surface blows away the Verbatim media I used to use. I figured because the Verbatims were more expensive, they had to be better (...NO!...). The Ridatas are much cheaper and I've never had a coaster or reading issues. Just bought 100 for $26.99 from supermediastore. The printing surface color issues I had with Verbatim do not happen with Ridata, although I still like to spray the discs to have a glossy, waterproof, uv protected coating.

You can go about your business. Move along, move along.
