I don’t know about Obi. But Prowse was in his 40’s when he made ROTJ. and around the age Vader would have been in the OT. Of course Lucas cast Shaw.
I do wonder if there was supposed to be a bigger gap between the Clone Wars and Star Wars 1977 in the timeline. But that is purely brought to mind by Timothy Zahn and his Thrawn Trilogy.

Originally it was assumed, and pretty much fact, that the clone wars was at least 30 yrs before the Star Wars trilogy. That was eventually retconned later.
