Excellent work. Between this and the 35mm theatricals it’s the perfect setup. I think more film grain helps the effects to blend better, but if I want to watch something for sheer detail, this version of 4k is the best.

Hmm…
I have mixed feelings about this release. I like it, but it’s not optimal.
It’s a clear upgrade over the official 4K blu-rays/streams. The detail is visibly better.
BUT - the fact that the process was started from the remastered discs does lower the ceiling of what’s possible. You still get that waxy look on the skin of the characters.
The colors are a little too blue and slightly washed out: they lack the depth that’s in DrDre’s files. It’s a shame that DrDre never finished his Extended Edition project (only half of FOTR EE was ever released) because I think they would have been better than MJBenito’s. Though, I fully understand that it would require a ton of unpaid work so I don’t blame him. And I’m not trying to throw shade on MJBenito. Again, the result is something that’s much better than the official 4Ks.
Those look MUCH better than the official 4ks.
Crazy how 1 person can make a better job than an entire team.
Kinda sad that there’s no Dolby Vision but if that’s what it takes to get a better 4K remaster, I’ll take it.
Circling back to leave my thoughts after watching Fellowship.
I have mixed feelings about this release. On the one hand, the quality of the work is absolutely top notch. The color grade is phenomenal, the grain is just right, everything is excellent.
On the other hand, the unbelievable clarity and picture quality of this release was so pristine it bordered on uncanny and made me realize my canonical memory of these films is the original DVD release collection. So seeing them in neutral color at max quality was a little jarring for me. Are the “worse” originals perhaps better, the way that old classic hollywood films are better in their original format?
I don’t know, but I enjoyed it a lot nonetheless.
All links I was sent got their files deleted, are there any new ones?
I finally took the time to watch these, and they were fantastic—it was almost like I remembered them from the cinema. Compared to the 4K versions, which I thought looked a bit strange, the colors here really made a difference, and even my wife could tell the difference between the disc and these.
Hello!

Thanks for that.
I’m going to start posting there then! And I’ll try to share cool stuff and wait for more than a month! That my new life side quest 😄
Screenshots are wonderful; I’m looking forward to checking these out once I complete my first read-through of the books!

I think I know what you mean about canonical memories. I saw the originals in the theatre and followed by the DVDs and the Extended Editions, and I’m still struggling to find a modern release that matches what my mind tells me the original films looked like.
My subconscious seems so opinionated about the visuals of this trilogy in particular 😂
Thanks OP for preserving this artwork. I hope I’m able to watch your versions, the feedback sounds great
Are these from the 2020 4k blu ray?
