Ultimately, like I said, it’s up to you, but it is piracy. If they release the OOT officially are you going to download that illegally too? Same logic.

As said, I haven’t ever seen the original soundtracks for sale anywhere. I’ll look into it but I don’t think they’re actually available outside non official retailers, meaning they fall into the same category for sharing copies as the DSEs do. This site well knows the grey area it falls into and I think this is where the OOT soundtracks now fall into as well. I will see if I can confirm that though before proceeding further in obtaining them via other means.

No, this isn’t accurate. They’re readily and officially available on vinyl and digital (not just iTunes, but also places where you can get them at higher bitrates). The analogy to the OOT would be if Lucasfilm officially released them on Blu-ray and digital, and you justified pirating them because there wasn’t a DVD release.

Not to make an argument of the matter, but what about in the case where your sound system does not support vinyl or digital music playback? My father for instance has an 80s Bose satellite with passive subwoofer hi-fi system that hooks up through a custom amplifier to a 90s Pioneer CD player (one where you placed the disc upside down on essentially the CD version of a vinyl turn table lol). Basically the only way of listening to music on his hi-fi system is via CD.

That aside, I ended up picking up the below via eBay a couple of months back 😄 Very happy to have a legit collection that still has Lapti Nek and the original ROTJ end music with Yub Nub 😛

PS. Was thinking of trying to scan the booklet into a single PDF, if anyone wants a copy shoot me a PM 😉

My ranking is extremely simple: Revenge of the Sith in first place, and then all the other soundtracks, at the same level, but under Revenge of the Sith. Revenge of the Sith is the best.

  1. Revenge of the Sith
  2. Return of the Jedi
  3. The Empire Strikes Back
  4. A New Hope
  5. The Phantom Menace
  6. Attack of the Clones
  7. Rogue One

I don’t remember the rest of the movies’ musical scores well enough to rank them. Out of these seven, all of the soundtracks are very close in quality to each other except for Rogue One’s, which I think was weak.

Not ranking any of them because the soundtracks from all six movies are equally fantastic. Though the music from the Prequels are some of the richest sounds John Williams has ever produced.

ROTS gets an E for exceeds expectations, Star Wars gets an A, TESB gets an A-, ROTJ gets an A+, Clone Wars (2003) gets an E, Clone Wars (2009) gets an E, Star Wars the Force Unleashed I and II get an E, Rebels gets an E, KOTOR and its sequels get an E, TPM gets a A-, AOTC gets a B+, Republic Commandos gets an E, and Superpower Beatdown’s Darth Vader vs Batman gets an E.

I’m just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe.

Star Wars has 3 eras: The eras are 1977-1983(pre Expanded Universe), (1983-2014) expanded universe, or (2014- now) Disney-bought version. Each are valid.

My movie reviews aren’t AI, they’re just written by someone who’s Neurodivergent. If you don’t like them, then simply don’t read them.

Episode II for me is weak there is too much music tracked in from the Phantom Menace in the film and not what Williams composed for the second Episode. I do however like Across the Stars. It’s especially good as a concert suite.

Phantom Menace is a solid score better than the film actually.

I haven’t listened to the third one much at all since 2005 so I can’t give that a fair rating. Revenge of the Sith.

I do understand that all 3 prequel scores received remastered and truncated album editions and not complete. Phantom Menace did back a long time ago receive an expanded score, but not complete. And II and III never received anything but the album.

The Disney remasters are just the original albums.

Andor has some excellent tracks, my favorite being Brasso by Brandon Roberts. Although it’s a 3min song there is a 9min extended version on YouTube that is pretty epic if you want continuous pump!
