Dude, they’ve always been flying now. Like, since the Mandalorians.
I found that quote lame because of the delivery and repetition.
I think it’s perfectly normal for them to be taken aback by it considering none of the characters were alive back then and even before their lifetime during the age of the empire, flying storm troopers had not really been a thing.
None of these characters had encountered flying First Order Stormtroopers before.
It’s a lame line because it has real “that happened” energy.
