What scene in the O-OT/OT do you hate the most?
I really hate Jabba (but I think everybody hates that scene) in ANH, Greedo shooting first, some parts of the duel of Ben and Vader where real crap (most of the time because of effect gliches), Emperor hologram (with IA) in ESB, Hayden as Anakin.

I HATE Greedo shooting first in ANH.

I like the new footage of Hayden as Anakin in ROTJ.

I'm lost. Is this about hating the O-OT, the SE-OT, or the DVD-OT? Or just the OT in general?

The SEs are included in the OT-in-general, though. Do you mean, the OT in general and especially the SEs? Or are you positing the existence of some SEs that are not a subset of OT-in-general?

Empire was my film of choice, only because i watched it 22 times (individual rent outs that is) and remembered every word and piece of music for the 1st 45 mins when i was about 12 (i went abit wayward between yoda and lando after 45mins) and i hadn't seen jedi yet (exept in a book) but i really hated everything from the exit from hoth to the entry to cloud city- namely degobah. Even now i prefer the special edition add-on bits to the voice of Fuzzy bear Yoda section on Degobah.

yeah but dagobah was so atmospheric that i can forgive if it was a little dull. seriously the prequels were really missing the mystical elements that was so abundant in the dagobah scenes. im glad though that the clone wars series included scenes like these

"A certain point of view" is the worst line ever.
The new age/John Tesh victory song at the end of Jedi is the worst ending.
Jedi rocks is the worst thing in human history.

WTF?!?

I always thought "Our first catch of the day" in Empire was a terrible line.

Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here, this is the war room!

I don't think it was so much a bad line as it was a badly-delivered line. It's frickin' hilarious how bad and wooden it sounds.

It's not a scene, but most of the ewok-part of ROTJ is what I dislike (enjoy the least )... they feel out place and pace a lot of the time.

Huh. I thought nothing was changed for the Yoda scenes or anything on Dagobah for that matter.

Take back the trilogy. Execute Order '77

Nothing was changed there. I think he's referring to preferring the ad ons compared TO the Dagobah stuff.
The only part I didn't like when I was a kid was I thought the Jawa stuff was boring before the droids got sold to Uncle Owen. I thought that dragged. It's not long at all actually, but I was a kid, and I thought it was dragging! But now the only stuff I really don't like are all the SE changes. Blah!!

And it stands out like a sore thumb too.
There's good in the Original Trilogy, and it's worth fighting for.

I must admit that I thought (when I was 7, watching it for the first time) that Star Wars really picked up the pace once they entered the Mos Eisley Cantina.

Does anybody know if the Vader-shuttle stuff was screwed up in the '97 SE? I don't remember ever having a problem with it, really.

You are free to assume that I hate ANH and ROTJ SEs with a vengeance.

Yeah that Vader shuttle sequence was in from 97, i always hated the new dialouge, the shot of him walking the platform and landing on the Executor but quite liked the shot of the shuttle in flight from 97 onwards, it didnt seem necessary to have them in there, ADM cut those crappy bits out, changed the dialouge and kept the shuttle flying in his Empire SE and the whole thing works better.

I think seeing the shuttle flying was the worst part (next to landing) because it totally ruins the scene, intercutting scenes of it, so you miss shots of the Falcon escaping and Luke being rescued to see it. And the landing is just a disaster, totally bringing the pacing to a grinding halt for about fifteen seconds.

I agree OOT is the best where you dont see it at all, and it isnt necessary to see it in context of the film, but ive always found that shuttle in flight shot a nice one to look at visually, but what possessed him to add those scenes into Empire in the first place I dont know

I think Vader's line "Alert my star destroyer to prepare for my arrival," sounds JUST LIKE something he would say. He says it in that same Anakin arrogant tone.

Geez, I swear you're just following me around tonight, challenging everything I say. Well, I'll use your own logic to confuse you. I thought you were supposed to believe that Anakin was dead at this point, so why would Vader sound like someone who's dead, hmm?

Because the remnants of Anakin are still around, hence Padmes and Luke's "There is still good in him."
