My favourite scene is when Luke, after rejecting the call to adventure and resigning himself to a doldrum existence as a moisture farmer, returns to the Lars homestead to find it in flames with Owen and Beru brutally murdered. It’s the one moment in the film where I believed Luke loved his foster parents, and it was that love that finally motivated him to take a stand against the fascist Empire.
