Now that we’re finally getting the original and can relax a bit, someone should do a fan edit with the objectively WORST possible versions of everything, just for fun, kind of like the opposite of Hal 9000s custom SE’s.

I’m talking ‘97 Jabba, Luke’s ‘97 scream, Vader’s pace destroying joyride, Jedi Rocks, rocks infront of R2, Ben’s 2011 yell, the ‘97 entrance shot of the speeder with the awful pink tint, but also use the original speeder shot with the orange blob underneath. Keep every matte line and composite from the original release, use the most flawed shots from the original like the Falcon sitting in the hangar or the cardboard cutout rebels at the end, or the speeder shot after Luke says he wants to be a Jedi.
You could even make custom combinations of certain scenes. Like use the awful CGI Dewback scene but then keep the original sandcrawler miniature shot, or use the original Emperor but with the added dialogue, or Yub Nub with Hayden. Or worst of all, the ‘97 Greedo scene but with Macklunkey added in 😂

I think it would be very telling to put every single awful change into one version, along with all the flaws of the original, just to showcase how bad some things were all together at once

We could call it “The Holiday Special cut”
