Hi folks, kudos to all fan editors! I’ve been reading Attack of the Clones fanedit review comments and a couple old threads from search results. Was wondering if there are any good edits of this for my particular interests.
I see the ones with the most ratings and checked those reviews out first. Sound well done, but I’m looking for something different than what’s described there.
Pretty much, instead of making the movie more say normal and making Anakin less of a “creep” etc, removing “cringe” (just using quotes since I saw these in the reviews a lot), leaving that in. I’m looking for ones that don’t focus on removing that, since that’s a lot of what I find memorable about the movie. The cheesy romance, Anakin being odd, the diner, stuff like that.
That said, I still think there’s lots of room to play with creatively by trimming and editing the movie, and I personally do find a lot of the movie doesn’t land well for me. Like a lot of the action etc, and the pacing. And I’m happy to remove any of the nonsense like retcon stuff of the original trilogy, I’m game for plenty of messing with the movie. So I’m open to big changes, it’s just it looks like the most requested changes are removing stuff I’d like, oddly enough. Since I kind of enjoy the awkward cheesy stuff as it’s own thing, or something, it has charm.
So, any good fan edits that aren’t focused on getting rid of that stuff, and leave a good bit of the romance, memorable “groan” lines etc, and the diner is a must. Thanks!
And a bonus question, Revenge of the Sith. I like that movie as is, but again, my favorite stuff seems to be what might get removed. Oddball surreal weirdness, campy lines, Anakin being a maniac. And I wouldn’t want much Palpatine to be removed from the film, certainly not any of his memorable lines. I need all the crazy lines. I’m okay with removing “NO!” and am open to removing a good bit of stuff. Midichlorians can go. And I heard some of the edits made the Jedi seem worse somehow, which I wouldn’t prefer. So I guess, any subtle well liked fan edits of Ep 3 that keep the quirky / weird stuff? And Anakin being mostly as is? And aren’t about removing humor?
But especially Ep 2. And no worries if anything in this ballpark doesn’t exist, was just curious and worth a go. Thanks!
(And extra bonus question: any Indy Crystal Skull fan edits along these lines too? Keeping the campy and funny/oddball.)
