I will point out, however, that onscreen Star Wars has certainly not shied away from heavy use of AI-generated dialogue. So… yeah. On the other hand, I get it, though.
Also worth pointing out that none of this is for-profit. It would be very different if we were profiting off of the AI edits (see the channels on YouTube for blatant examples of this).
Also, it’s not as if this is replacing anybody’s jobs. Either this tool would be used, or we’d have less creative choices for edits.
The real issue with generative AI is that it harms the environment, and AI models are essentially theft in that they’re trained on stolen content; the vast majority of creators and owners didn’t give permission, nor are they credited.
