The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie
The PowerPuff Girl Movie
Minority Report
The Big Red One: The Reconstruction (I know that the only reason I love this movie is because Mark Hamill is in it.)
Pearl Harbor
Space Camp (I once watched this movie 5 times in one day)
Twister

I don't consider Twister and Minority Report bad films.

Note bolds. These movies do not suck; they are campily self-aware, and targeted at both adults and children. I could point to numerous examples of this in each, but it would take too long.

Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

And if you wanna talk bad superhero movies, how about "The Phantom"? The "Crow" sequels?

And of course, who can forget "KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park"

THERE'S NOT A DAMN THING WRONG WITH "THE PHANTOM." ANOTHER ONE OF MY GUILTY PLEASURE MOVIES IS "CORVETTE SUMMER."

Demolition Man is one of mine... not really a bad film, but many people lambast it for being too over the top. More "classics":
Beastmaster
Clash of the Titans
Maximum Overdrive
Cloak & Dagger

CLOAK & DAGGER WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITES WHEN I WAS A KID. I STILL ENJOY IT TO THIS DAY. CLASH OF THE TITANS IS JUST CLASSIC. BEASTMASTER WAS THE LAST MOVIE I WATCHED AT THE DRIVE-IN, SO IT WILL ALWAYS HOLD A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY LIST OF MOVIES.

Well, I know they don't suck (and I love them), but I found them in like the $5 bin at the store and they didn't do all that hot at the box office. I wonder if that is just because America has poor taste in films and want to spend their money on things like "Jurassic Park 3," "DOOM: The movie," "Alien vs. Predator," "Rumor Has It." My god...I can't believe it. Hollywood is so desperate for film material that they are using an older, more sucsessful movie to be the base line for their new movie. A movie based on a movie is not a good sign.

I liked Demolition Man as well, but Snipes really sold that film. Cloak and Dagger was a cool movie, too.

Oh, and I forgot to mention earlier - my wife is a big Space Camp fan.

"THERE'S NOT A DAMN THING WRONG WITH "THE PHANTOM."

Agreed. Surprisingly good, and good camp, too.

" ANOTHER ONE OF MY GUILTY PLEASURE MOVIES IS "CORVETTE SUMMER."

Another Hamill film. I've yet to see this, but it does remind me of another guilty pleasure - "The Car".

OMG. I'm not alone.

Howard the Duck. Ridiculous but I'd happily watch it again.
I actually enjoy Hudson Hawk (and I noticed ADM compare it to Arrested Development - simply the best show on TV, period).
And I think Flash Gordon (1980) is awesome.
where have i been all this time ?

Yeah, Howard the duck brings back childhood memories. I would love to see that one today. Also Hamburger the movie and Teenwolf... They are so bad that they are good.

Didn't they make the 1980 Flash Gordon "bad" on purpose?
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Heck I'd argue that its even 'bad' as I love the film. Unless something is a comedy (Like 'Lost Skeleton of Cadavra') I doubt any filmmaker sets out to make a 'bad' movie. FG was purposely done to be a cartoon-strip looking film with bright colors, etc. There are certainly camp elements and the acting is fun and over-the-top but I don't think they really strayed *too* far from the original strips. Now Flash's ever-evolving wardrobe... now THAT was funny!

In a word, yes. Flash Gordon (1980) is a prime example of being campliy self-aware. The screenplay was by Lorenzo Semple Jr., who knows from camp; he was head writer on the Batman TV series of the late 1960s. They chose Sam J. Jones based on his looks, and surrounded him with very talented actors, most of whom were in on the joke. The production values on the film were extremely high, which leads me to believe that Dino DeLaurentiis may not have been in on the joke.

Do you think Sam J. Jones was in on the joke?

Speakin' of which, there was this rumor going around that Ashton Kutcher was up to star as Flash Gordon in a remake, and what creeped me out was that Kutcher actually does look like Sam J. Jones.

Except Kutcher would really have to bulk up to play Flash in the Sam J. Jones mould. He's a skinny li'l waif.

I enjoyed "Explorers" and "Batman Forever". Those two were bad movie but not in the same vain. Explorers was good up until the ending but I enjoyed it anyways. Batman Forever was just campy period. "Alien Ressurection" was pretty bad but i enjoyed that one. "AVP" was also pretty bad, got the extended cut when it came out on DVD. Enjoy that one. There's others but the list would be too long.

I'm trying to get a list together of the movies that came out in wide release in 1997. That was the year I graduated HS. Big year for me. Movie have changed alot since then. Just off the top of my head, I know that was the year of Titanic and The SW special editions. That was also the year JP2 came out along with Batman and Robin. People were saying "Death to Clooney!" on batman boards for a while after that one.

The one thing I'll never get over about Flash Gordon now that I'm old enough to "know" better is Max Von Sydow. So talented, I cringe when I think of him as Ming.

Babes everywhere in that movie though.

I'll have to differ there- he's one of the things that I LOVE about 'Flash'! In fact I consider those the Max Von Sydow 'fun years'. 95% of my favorite quotable lines come from Max in 'Flash' and 'Strange Brew'-

Its not like he was desperate for work I think- I truely believe he thought 'hell why not?' And it doesn't seem like he telegraphed in his performances either. Not like Ben Kingsley in soooooo many films or any number of other fine actors.

Well, I'm more used to the phrase "phoned it in," but they're essentially the same. It basically means that you didn't put any effort into a performance. Like your body is there, but your mind is miles away. Sort of on the wavelength that you couldn't be bothered to show up and act, so you could be replace with your voice on a telephone (or -graph, apparantly)
