For me, it's always given me that childhood hope that there is something spectacular waiting around the corner, some amazing destiny that can sweep me up like it did with Luke. There are surprises everywhere, from Luke looking up into the twin setting suns of Tatooine, lamenting and yearning, to becoming a hero, to discovering a world of honor and mystical power he never knew existed, to finding out that strange little creature was a Jedi master and more wise and powerful than he could have ever thought. To grow, even in the face of the most horrible, from being a boy to being a man and confronting his destiny and learning what's really important. I've heard the old adage that everybody feels like they're Luke, but they wish they were Han, but, hey, I'd have no problem at all being Luke except for missing out on Leia in the end.
