Cool ideas, especially for the sequence of events in the wrap-up. I was really close to finishing my own 9-episode edit of season 3, but I tried to break the final 2 episodes into 3 and got bogged down trying to find a few more minutes of content to add to the middle installment (basically after Jack runs off through the reveal of the Ent D). I was thinking of maybe using some version of the cadet flashback from episode 4.
Anyway, I still love the core of the Picard show for all of its faults, and it’s always refreshing to see a new take on it.
Yeah, if you’re stuck, you can always borrow things from earlier episodes or even seasons to bring it all up to length. I’m sure you’ll crack it eventually.
It’s a good thing a great deal of the third series events are recapped through exposition, some things still do feel a bit sudden in the recut, but not as much this time than when I tried avoiding key moments altogether. The Media Res start does give the edit the kind of immediate urgency I was looking for so it could be on par with First Contact.
