What if the empire believes Luke to be dead?

That would also fit with the death and resurection theme around Vader/Anakin and draw another parallel between Luka and Vader.

Editing wise, this shouldnt be difficult to pull off. One could simply put a small explanation in the crawl (maybe even add smth that only Vader still believes Luke to be alive or smth) and add new subtitles to Jabba that explain that he believes Skywalker to be dead. Furthermore, you could add a hood to Luke’s hologram when he speaks to Jabba, adding to the mystery.
