In some ways, I’m sympathetic.
I’m an editor myself, and I’ve worked with directors who had the temptation to go back and re-edit their films, tweak them, fix problems that we didn’t have the time or money for, etc.
It’s pretty common.
But at some point you have to move on, and realize that’s the best we could do at the time.
Sure, maybe we could go back and do a director’s cut, but I’d never support erasing the original version and pretending it never existed.
