I decided to have some fun with this one.
Seeing as the GOUT was released in 2006, I thought I’d encode a VC-1 stream that was HD-DVD/Blu-ray compliant to simulate what we might have gotten if the GOUT was released on all three formats simultaneously. VC-1 at the time gave the most consistent results, as H.264 was still new and the encoding tools weren’t mature enough yet to provide the higher quality video we’ve gotten used to from it. For dual format same day releases, it was common to use a single encode for HD-DVD and Blu-ray based on the tighter HD-DVD specs.

Video is MKV but Blu-ray compliant, so run it through TSmuxer if you want it on a disc.
