I watched this last weekend with my partner and we loved this edit. It definitely stays true to what the creator intended to do with it. We felt like it was a greatly streamlined version that heavily focused on Anakin, Padme, and Obi Wan. It was a really refreshing watch and I greatly enjoyed how the three movies were condensed down to 3 hours.

While there are some parts that do have technical limitations, I don’t think it takes away from the actual flow or story. I went in expecting a great story with great technical work (combining different edits, the scenes, etc etc) and finished the edit highly satisfied. Like I said, couple areas technically could use work, but the actual fundamentals and story flow work very well.

I do believe that a viewer that has knowledge of the three movies will enjoy this more compared to someone with zero prequel movie knowledge. I’m sure that’s obvious, but logically it helps that the viewer at least has seen the three movies, or at least the second and third. Phantom Menace was cut down significantly, but honestly it works well. I didn’t feel like I missed anything from the first movie, and the meat and potatoes are in the second and third.

Overall this was a highly enjoyable watch on a Sunday night, very thankful that I got a chance to watch this edit. If you’re genuinely curious in a more streamlined experience, then I would suggest a watch 😃
