I always KNEW something was wrong about the Blu-ray and my GF who never saw the DVDs would roll her eyes each time I mentioned it during our yearly re watch (yes, she’s the best). I feel so vindicated!!! I am not enough of a video/color nerd and since I dont have the DVDs anymore I could never pinpoint exactly why it was so much more … magical? in my memories! I would love to be able to get my hands on this version! How can I prove that I own a copy of the movies to get a link? I’ll do whatever it takes to view this in its restored glory! Thank you for the passion and the dedication, you guys are a big part of why I love Cinema

Using the remastered blurays is a nice idea to improve a bit of detail!

Every official Bluray/4k release had various flaws. I understand corporations have protocols, but I over all also praise skilled fans for bringing full glory back to these movies without constraints/boundaries (costs and deadlines to handle). Thank you!

What an extraordinary project. It’s genuinely humbling to see the colossal amount of work Dwalin has undertaken —essentially doing what Warner/New Line should have delivered in the first place. How inspiring!

Wouldn’t it be good if someone took your work and upscaled it with Topaz AI to 4k similar to how DrDre did with the theatrical blu ray releases? Since your versions here seem now to be the definitive versions of the Extended Editions so far

These look amazing! Is there a higher bit rate version of both FOTR and TTT available that eliminates the banding and blocking artifacts?

How come the bitrate is so low compared to the proper bluray/remux? Your TTT and fellowship regrades video files have less than half the bitrate and are also half the size

Was no proper lossless Bluray/Remux used as base for the regraded version here?

Yeah i’ve noticed this too, he probably used a lossy BDrip as a base for this project, it’s a shame since his results look so good

That isn’t viable without at least some loss of detail.

Is this release synced with the 1080p blu-ray edition? I’d like to add an audio track (french, in my case) from the original blu-ray, but I see that your release is 3:48:11 whereas the OG release is 3:48:18. Any idea where the missing 6 seconds are coming from?

I have pretty much the same question. Would like to ad the german audio track. so if the missing 6 seconds come from

01:45:38 (after Pippin says “where are we going?”)

how would I fix this? Has anybody an idea?
