Info Wanted: Has someone preserved THE SANTA CLAUSE laserdisc?

That’s right, has someone out there preserved it? It has a scene that was completely edited out of the DVD release. It’s the scene where Laura gives Scott her mother’s number and he says “1-800-SPANK-ME? I know that number…” Alternatively, there’s also the TV edit where they had changed the number to 1-800-POUND. Maybe if this hasn’t been done before someone’s willing to take the chance? The 1995 widescreen laserdisc is unedited…

Most of the ones available at ebay are cheap AND have a BIN price so there's no need to bid. I guess they don't know what they have or they'd charge more....

I Would so love to see this project happen!!!!

also If we could find the TV version with the Phone number as: "1-800-POUND", maybe we could have that as a second audio track option!!!

I Think We could/should call the preservation/project: THE SANTA CLAUSE the 1-800-PRESERVATION-EDITION

I know this thread is as old as my marriage (ha!, lol), 12 years, but has this ever been done? Just got the three movie set on Blu Ray with Target’s buy 2 get 1 free deal. Of course the scene is cut. I see the uncut movie is up on the 'spleen, if anyone is still curious. Seems some streaming versions are uncut.

It was the same on Vudu on lower resolutions, but not anymore. 😦 I would love to have the unedited version, especially in 4K.

1080p version is up on MySpleen. Lucky for me, I have bad eyes and 4K and 1080 look the same to me.

How do I sign up for MySpleen. And I will admit I can’t always tell the difference myself, also, sometimes 4K transfers can be really shoddy.

They stopped giving invites a long time ago. The only way I know how to get in is by knowing someone already on the site. I’ve also heard that they let people in with really rare tapes/recordings, but I could be wrong.
