After viewing it a few times, I think it is a real problem. I think it’s a “crossing the line” issue, as they say in filmmaking.








Specifically it’s between images 4 & 5 of this sequence. By having the sandcrawler on the left, the camera has completely swung around from where it was before, in a very jarring way. It’s made worse by then swinging back around to where we were before for the next shot, but it would be a problem even without that.
I think the reason it’s okay to then do it for image 7 is that Threepio’s presence in frame anchors the viewer somehow? Anyway, continuity issues are less important than the visual language of film.
