George Lucas: Star Wars Creator, Unreliable Narrator & Time Travelling Revisionist... — Page 11

I think it’s especially egregious that Lucas engaged in film revisionism and not just with Star Wars. He has done it to his films even television. The fact Spielberg and Cameron and Peter Jackson also engage in it doesn’t absolve him.

You can’t get the original Young Indiana Jones Chronicles on DVD. You can’t get American Graffiti the director’s cut from 1978 except on laserdisc or VHS. You can’t get the THX 1138 1977 directors cut without watching it on VHS or laserdisc.

When he changed a film or tv show he did not preserve the original.

Even the Indiana Jones films were recomposited for 4K if Damn Fool Idealistic Crusader is correct. Spielberg again and Lucas.

Latest George soundbite on SW:

I’ve moved past it. I mean, I’ve got a life.

Which I hope is true. Maybe that’s why the leaks of new material have come along recently? Then again it could mean absolutely nothing.

Just last year of course we were hearing this stuff:

I think a film belongs to its creator. When Michelangelo made the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, he looked at it and said: I’m going to redo this part.

But I suppose both things could be true, he could be done with it all and still have power to veto a restored OOT release.
