Can this be adapted for a 2.35:1 aspect ratio? I know the difference is negligible but I’m looking for maximum accuracy to the original release rather than subsequent re-releases. Though it’s only a 12 pixel difference when dealing with 1080p letterboxing.
EDIT: I’m admittedly having trouble getting a a straight answer on whether the original release was 2.35:1 or 2.39:1, as the two are often used interchangeably despite this not being accurate.
EDIT2: Also, correct me if I’m wrong, but the Blu-Ray release of ANH seems to have a resolution of 1920x816, which corresponds more closely to 2.35:1, rather than 2.39:1 which would be closer to 1920x804.

The original aspect ratio was 2.39. To my recollection, the only exception to this is TFA, which uses 2.40 instead
Thanks for the quick response. From googling more, it seems it was filmed in 2.35:1, and this is how it was presented in previous releases, but for the 4k, they’ve opted for the more modern standard of 2.39:1.
This just means a tiny sliver is chopped off the top and/or bottom of the frame for these newest releases.In any case, I’m sure I can account for the miniscule difference with your template by lining it up with the crawl on a Blu-Ray rip. I haven’t been able to play with it yet, as I don’t have Resolve. I’ve been clinging onto Final Cut Pro 7 for dear life, but the time is fast approaching where I’m going to have to join you in the future.
I do have a version of your custom crawl, shared by a friend, so I assume it’s correct. If you’ve ever updated it, please send me a PM though. 😃
