Got some higher quality bits to fill in some of the missing frames for my scan and also compared to the blu-ray to see if it was all complete. Had to add in 0-2 frames at each reel change. Also comparison to alternate scan source has allowed adding in a lot more frames for the Universal bumper at the end. Now have it 100% frame complete compared to the blu-ray for the feature itself (plus scan has the DTS into and Universal bumper at the end, the latter now more complete, possibly 100% complete now or close). Re-did the audio for the new extra frames timing. May have found a better way to remove the green emulsion lines. Built up a new PC (old one had MB and CPU from 15 years ago) and RAID 0 and more disc space for open matte intermediate frames storage. Hopefully renders out more quickly now and if things bog down have old PC to keep doing stuff on so scheduling rendering not so problematic now.
That is awesome news, Lizard, thanks so much. I appreciate all of your continued efforts and hard work with this.
Were the missing frames why I couldn’t get the UHD DTS track to align? I muxed it in using MKVToolNix and managed to get it aligned for a small portion of the video but it gradually fell out of sync.
Looking very forward to the new version.
Kind thanks
The UHD audio probably fell out of sync because the few missing frames and possibly also the 23.976 vs 24 fps thing (unless you accounted for that in which case it was almost surely just the very few missing frames; think it had 1 frame missing between reels 1&2, 3&4, 5&6 and two between 6&7.)
