Hi, I have no idea if this conversation is still active but I am the co-Originator Director and Producer of Grim Tales with Rik Mayall. I have a collection of masters, umatics and vhs tapes but I cait is an expensive process and I have no idea if they have survived the passage of time. The only way to find out is expensive. I came across this topic by chance as I had recently watched him Hensons the storyteller on Amazon prime, which made me think of this programme. I am actually a project manager at a company specialising in media archive preservation not only do we store and house alot of content but we also digitise alot of content that eventually ends up on VOD platforms. Umatics and VHS are not the most hardy of formats and there wiil be tape degradation due to their age but providing they were not exposed to the elements we normally have success in playing these back and encoding them. For Any funding it would be good to get a gauge on how much funds would be needed how many tapes are there?
