Star Wars novels and comics review thread — Page 2

I’m very new to the Star Wars EU but listened to my first audio book last week. Did a Google search of where to start with the Legends books and gave Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void by Tim Lebbon, took awhile to get into but really enjoyed and highly recommend to anyone who hasn’t read/listened to it or like myself just starting out with the EU.

Here is a link to the wookiepedia site that gave a list of where to start, if anyone is interested.

The Han Solo 2016 comic is decent.

I also read the Imperial Cadet comic. Good art. Story not recommended.

this chronological list is intimidating for sure though I am curious to see how many of these novels follow an unconventional character, not just your average good guy. I favor lost stars for this reason, although I haven’t read it yet. I like the idea of a different perspective

The Prequel Storyboards book by Rinzler. Very disappointing its mostly Phantom Menace. Very little seems to be of previous drafts or aborted attempts of the story.

I’d be much more interested in reading about the early treatments for the prequels and earlier drafts that don’t reflect what ended up on screen.

There are bits and pieces in the “Art of” books he also wrote but not much. I assume the storyboard process (along with CG animatics) are done at a later stage of pre-production.
