Man, I am so looking forward to this edit! I love the additions you’re making.
Extremely impressive and exciting, Acbagel!
Looking impressive! Really looking forward to this edit and additional cameos to the ending is a nice touch, never would have considered a Sabine one!
Thanks you three! I appreciate the support and the patience through everything. With that said… You won’t have to be patient much longer.
I can hardly believe it… But after 3+ years this project is entering its final stage (well… at least until Fall 2026 when Mando and Grogu releases out of theaters). The Way of Mandalore Book 6, at LONG last, has a full first draft cut completed.
This has been an incredibly long journey of editing, re-editing, refining, and reimagining, and now the final film exists as a complete draft from start to finish (and a pretty completed draft at that, save some transitions/sound blending). There’s still technical polishing to do, and color grading, but for the first time I can sit back and actually watch it all the way through as one story.
Thank you to everyone who has followed along with this saga, your support and excitement has been the fuel that kept me going. The finish line is in sight! You have a very realistic chance of seeing this thing in the month of October.
I will share some new preview images to tie you over until then!
I know I just shared the Sabine photo in the last one, but wanted to show an update of how it’s looking after more work and integrated into the film rather than just a still.
And another guest appearance at the ceremony! (the subtitles for these two are from a Mandalorian chant being sung in Mando’a in the background)
Did you also hate seeing Moff Gideon in Season 3 and have his final scene be him mysteriously vanishing? Well, now you can see him explode into a million pieces.
Working on finishing some Republic Commando inspired Mando-esque HUD on the screen for when we see through Din’s mask. Always hated how it’s just blank black outlines.
The “Boba has no rancor” gag is gone, replaced by the assassin getting violently grabbed and devoured by a real rancor. (Shoutout to JediZorro for helping me with this VFX)
Utilized some Slave 1 footage and did a lot of roto’s to get a good looking brief space combat around Mandalore. Part of that entailed needing to replace Boba’s targeting computer image from a shuttle to a Destroyer.
And here is one such Destroyer with a new shot of it bombarding Axe Woves’ cruiser.
And from Woves’ perspective of getting bombarded in his cruiser… All new laser and explosion VFX reflecting off the viewport as his ship goes down.
But Boba isn’t going to let his vod jump out of the bridge without a rescue plan… Which is why he follows him down through orbit into atmopsphere.
And our dear friend Woves is successfully saved from plummeting to his doom in a mid air jetpack to boarding ramp maneuver.
Finally, for now, a sweet picture of a father and son reuniting on the beautiful planet of Yavin IV outside of Luke’s academy temple. (Shoutout to Dazman for the initial foundation of rotoscoping I built from)
Also, huge shoutouts to Shoya for ALL of the Mando’a translations, and g00b for constant review and feedback and support, and to many others who participated in this thread and my chats during my 80+ hours of livestream editing TWoM.
So excited to share this soon, but don’t want to rush any of the final touches that make a project go from good to great. We are so close!
