  • It’s placed early in season 2. I’d put it at s02e05b, and g00b recommends s02e00 (first episode of season 2).

Hmm, I can’t seem to find episode s2e00 in the spreadsheet? I do however see s2e00b and s2e00c.

Should there be a s2e00(a) or am I misunderstanding something here?

Eddie has placed the episode at order s02e05b. My recommendation was to watch it as s02e00a. Hope this helps you out 😃

Oh, I’m sorry. I misunderstood and got it all wrong - I thought it was said that this new episode was supposed to be watched after s2e00(a), and was confused when I could not find an episode with that number.

I know understand that this episode was intented to be episode s2e00. Then everythings makes more sense 😃

My apologies, but English is not my native language.

Faneditors - I salute you.

I found it, it is there. Just look at the dates the eps were added, it is the one that was added most recently.

Bailey! Cool to come across you randomly

Just to justify why I’m suggesting S02E05B for it:

  • I prefer to open a season with an episode featuring all the main cast (in this case, Seven Warriors AKA Bounty Hunters).
  • The season one finale features Bane, and the season two opening heavily features bounty hunters, and the season two finale has less bounty hunting, so putting it in the middle balances the season a bit more.
  • The current S02E06 is a more minor episode heavily featuring only Anakin and Ahsoka, so having a solo Obi-Wan adventure pairs nicely with that.

That said, it’s entirely up to the viewer, and g00b’s placement is completely valid.

Your suggestion for placement has much more thought and care then mine so I’d prioritise Eddies ordering.

I simply placed that episode there because it makes direct reference to the previous season finale. My reasoning was that recency of viewing these events would make this moment land a bit better.

I think the positives from Eddies order outweigh my above point 😃

Loving the edit so far. The only thing I’m sad about is cutting Quinlan Vos. But I get that to keep him would mean keeping all the horrible Hutt stuff. Wish he appeared in more than just that one episode.

I think I’ve managed to fix this episode with maximum effort. I’ve sent my edit to Eddie. Keep your eyes on this forum 😉

This is so great! Thank you so much for doing this. Now his appearance in Tales of and mention in Kenobi have context. I think all that’s left is the Zillo beast episode for context to its Bad Batch appearance.

As a 25 y/o who loved Andor and decided to give other star wars media a chance, this was SUPERB and I thank you for it. As I’ve told my friends this cut is on par with the prequel trilogy and they should try it too if they liked the prequels. I powered through the original show for 3 seasons and when I reached the Citadel and Hunted arc I was sure it was gonna remain peak afterwards. Alas, I was so disappointed because of abundance of useless, less mature bits. Then I found your version (via reddit) and it helped me get through the rest of the show ❤️

here are the few notes for what I can remember:
-As for the Retribution episode: So brilliant of you to mix contents of season 1 with season 4. It fits so well!
-Dessent on Umbara episode: That scene with Krell getting stunned was one of the very few moments one could tell this was not the original cut. It could’ve had a more smooth transition to getting stunned scene.
-As mentioned above the Citadel arc is one of my favorite arcs and as originaltrilogy/Rogue One/Andor fan I got so excited for Tarkin’s first appearance in the prequels era and the events of the episode suit his personality so well and is also a better introduction for his character instead of The Forsaken. So it makes more sense to me to have it as the one of the main episodes instead of an extra one.
-I think there’s possibly too much cut from the Cosmic Force episode. I had to ask around to fully understand the concept of force ghosts and that Qui gon learned it and he later on tought Yoda as well.

Thanks again for delivering this experience. MTFBWY!

Thanks for the review, I’m so glad you enjoyed it!

Really good to hear positive feedback on Retribution - that was a fairly radical idea and a complex patch job but I’m glad you got the intended value add from it.

I see what you mean on Krell’s stunning. The actual technical cut works but the feel of the moments running to it make it a little jarring - it’s not telescoped quite as much as tone changes usually are in TCW. I’ll take that note.

I take your meaning on Citadel. I’m not sure what I have against that arc - I never considered it a standout, but so many people requested it that I clearly am an outlier. I’ll bump it up to the main list like the rest of the recommended episodes, with a ‘?’ for recommended (instead of blank), to give it more prominence and to let the viewer make that choice.

I don’t think I removed any actual force ghost context from Cosmic Force. I really enjoyed that whole arc and remember that when editing it all I really did was reorder some content to make the journey more of a vision quest than Yoda actually travelling physically to hot spots of the force. In fact, checking over my release notes, “all of the key beats are preserved, and any important mystical dialogue from a cut scene has found its way into another natural location.” So I think you’re getting as much context as the original episode has.

Thanks for your response Eddie and i really appreciate your reconsideration of the Citadel episode.
yeah I checked the cosmic force episode with more attention and I stand corrected 😄

Regarding Dreams of Destiny, another unexpectedly brilliant touch to mix the contents! I wasn’t aware of Forces of Destiny and it captured some interesting (and in my opinion, necessary) moments. That being said I think there’s somethigng with FoD that still throws off the Tales of the Jedi episode’s tone despite your perfecct edit. It’s probably the soundtrack and the cheap-looking 2D colorful animation that doesn’t match the serious tone of the episode explaining how Ahsoka pulled off what she did in the finale. It’s just an idea, I think FoD bits would work better if they were added as post credit content to previos episodes. I think post credit scenes have grown to be more common in TV shows (peacemaker for example) and animes already did them. It works in animes too bc usually they use a cheaper art style for their post credits scenes ( take Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen for example).

Anyways thanks again for the lovely edits. MTFBWY all.

Yeah, FoD is definitely a weird one!

I had considered putting the Ahsoka Training episode of TotJ within the finale (where it pays off), but I think it’s most useful as that pacer between seasons one and two, where we get to see her going through a bit of a maturing transition. It also works well as a bookend for some other story (or stories) due to its fragmented nature.

And Forces of Destiny, as you say, have some decent value but do throw off the tone a bit. I originally planned to mix it with some more content from the existing Tartakovsky cartoon, but that wasn’t vital to the plot of TCW:R (and also itself tonally unique), so when I realised I had TotJ to use as a bridge that became a natural marriage to become an odd, experimental little bonus episode.

I hadn’t considered post-credits, but I think in this case they wouldn’t quite work, mainly because people aren’t really expecting them, and one of the major goals of this project was to manage the users’ expectations (hence my comments in the spreadsheet, etc).

Either way, thanks for your feedback, and I’m really glad you enjoyed the edit and the original content!
