Hi Darth

Glad to hear you and your family are doing great! 😃

Just saw that you have reedited some parts from your original GOT Restored version and was so excited, I had to watch it immediately.

Bx the way:
After seeing your first Restored Version I got inspired to play around a bit with DaVinci Resolve and added some scenes that I liked (mostly the ones I posted on this forum on sep 2023), so thank you again, wouldn’t have been possible without your amazing work! 😄

Feedback:

  • The adding of the wight plot is brilliant as it removes 3 scenes that were a bit confusing/immersion breaking in the previous edit, namely:
    -> The plot were Jon goes north to kil the night king, it wasnt exactly clear what they were planning, works much better now.
    -> The armistice plot with cersei and the wall of KL scene, works much better in your new version and doesnt have immersion breaking scenes anymore.
    -> The opening scene in E05 of your V1, were Danaerys and Tyrion talk and Dany looks wrecked. Leaving it out works much better with other scenes added instead.
  • Very glad you also added:
    -> the Dany/John scene at the beach in E04 (“i would never presume”)
    -> The fermented crab scene in E05
    -> and the Benjen scene in the north
    -> They each add something in terms of plot and/or pacing.
  • This leaves basically only one scene that still feels edited from the original, namely the scene at the end with Dany and John in the throne room, but I honestly cant see a way of doing it better with the scenes given and is just one scene now instead of ca. 4 previously.

In 2023 I also edited E10 from your V1 and will keep it for “my” version. What I changed (just personal taste):

  • Bran warg into Arya: I just left it out and put the original scene back in.
  • Jon Speech at the Great War Burial: I cut the photoshopped deaths out and added most of the original scenes and use Sam and Brienn for later on.
  • Added the scene of Brienne writing in the Knight-Book about Jaimie.
  • Added the Tyrion Hand Scene at the council table (edited Bran out) to give a bit more closure on the “game of thrones” plot. Alluding having a council ruling now in KL instead of a King or Queen.
  • Added the Jon-Sam Goodbye scene before Jon leaves for the real north.

Your Restored V2 is definately the new canon GOT for me and makes rewatching GOT exciting again!
