Firstly that one Ecks guy said the version of SW had grain, which sounds more realistic as a leak.

Second what are they talking about 8k 120FPS, that’s not a thing right? I mean I hope, the high-frame rate stuff always look like utter crap, I was hoping it died out.

If they’re actually getting George to sign off on a motion-graded version of the SE then I could see it happening. He was kinda following Cameron’s lead converting TPM to 3D back in 2012 just before Titanic’s conversion came out. Avatar and Titanic were remastered yet again within the last several years and this time around there were certain scenes motion-graded to 48p for theaters capable of projecting in high framerate. I heard there were even certain theaters showing Way of Water in regular 2D in HFR, so it clearly wasn’t just to make the 3D smoother.

The 8k thing was also mentioned in the sample of one of the alleged “leaked documents” Eck was sent, specifically in reference to the vfx shots and how they require higher resolution to “disentangle” as someone put it.

Almost makes me wonder if someone else heard 8k and conflated it with 120p. This most recent rumor also mentioned AI which again feels like someone jumping to conclusions.
