  1. What is the source of this “restoration”? You have previously mentioned that it’s based on some late 90s prints, that were scanned in 2012, with the original files being over 200gb but you insist on working in 480p.

  2. Why has no one else ever heard of these scans from 2012, and why do you insist on working from them rather than any other better print that has come out since? You said that the 4k97 scans have bad colour?

  3. Why haven’t you shown any visuals from your “restoration”?

  4. What is your goal with this project?

  1. the source of this restoration is various. it’s a mix of clips from official 1997 releases, then there are a few clips taken from the unaltered DVD version. a few seconds have been taken from 4K97 clips on YouTube. and as for the 489

  2. to the 2012 scans, they absolutely are real scans. I don’t remember talking about 200GB sizes, but could be wrong. I will look into it if you find a message about that. and as for no one hearing about it, it’s not something I can answer, as I did not make the 2012 scans, but got them from the Internet. and as for the 480p, I wanted to make them low quality to preserve the nostalgia.

  3. I have not shown any screenshots of it because: I am not a frequent user of imgur, so using it is hard for me. and I find it wiser to upload video previews instead.

  4. to preserve the versions, obviously. since the Internet is desperate to keep me from obtaining a widescreen laser disc mp4 rip of the 1997 version, I needed to create one myself.

COLOUR: yes, 4K97 has bad colours. they don’t match the official 1997 release colours at all. I edit colours in all sources to make them look like the 1997 official release. fixing the colours of 4K97 would be extremely difficult, so it’s better to avoid using it unless no other sources exist.
