This is very odd;
It’s not secret that the UHD Blu-rays use power windows (masks used to color adjust specific sections of a frame). I just wasn’t aware of the extent. Almost every other shot has them and they are absolutely horrible.
Take this shot, for example, they’ve brightened the outside of Luke’s garage with a simple feather mask, weird but ok. But then they have to mask Luke out independently so that he isn’t bright like the otusied, but they’ve done it so slopply the mask reveals the original color of the background behind him, not to mention the terrible matte lines:

This shot has almost double the detail and color information as the BD clip, but because of these masks, it’s unusable. This is an example of why most professional resorations avoid using power windows or selective coloring, because it’s a destructive process that can’t be undone like with global grading.
