Almost all the source material has already appeared on Blu-ray (From what I recall, The Book of Boba Fett is due for release sometime this year). Somewhere I saw a comparison of the D+ version with the one on Blu-ray for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, and gee, there’s a difference 😉

Thanks! Books 1-4 will not be re-released in native 4k, Books 5-6 are in native 4k.

BB Ep. 0 has been released for a while, it’s just a touch up edit of the Clone Wars episodes to focus on TBB characters as the main characters and to get their personalities/tone of the story more in line with how I was planning to do for TBB show. TWoM update! I’m like 95% done the Yavin Grogu reunion scene now, moving onto getting the final Nevarro prep scenes made now and fixing Greef’s non-reactions to Grogu. Then it’s onto Mandalore for the final Act of the film!

Wow, thanks! Super excited to share this one. Production is going very well! Into the last hour of the film, working through Mandalore right now. Still on pace for a late summer/early fall release.

Hello, Nailer! Good question. Yes, Book 6 will be the last film (until The Mandalorian and Grogu movie comes out). You are correct that there’s no way to shove all of the needed main events into a 2 hour film, but there’s also not enough footage to make two 2-hour films, so this is going to be a 3-3.5 hour epic conclusion film à la Avengers Endgame.

Book 6 is indeed going well, we’re working through the battle of Mandalore right now, it’s pretty fun since it’s the part of the show i’ve watched through the least amount of times. I am literally writing out scene beats on flashcards and reorganizing everything to make something a bit more watchable, the geography of this base in the show is nonexistent so I’m trying to make something sensible.

The Way of Mandalore Book 1 is now released WITH subtitles and metadata/chapters as an MKV file. So anyone who needs that is welcome to DM me for access. Unfortunately, I got locked out of the account that had the first 2 films on it so I have new links for that version of Book 1 that you’ll need. No promises on timing of subtitles for the other films, but the first one is done!

Sorry to ask you to repeat yourself - I dug back through the history of this thread but couldn’t find a clear answer - which of your plans did you end up going for for your new Books 5 and 6? What’re the rough plot beats of both? If I remember correctly you’re pulling the BoBF content into Book 6, making Book 5 the start of Mando season 3?

Book 5 is apostate journey through Nevarro pirates. Book 6 is Tatooine with Boba + Grogu training through new Plazir and Mandalore. Book 6 is a 3-3.5 hour film ala “Endgame” to conclude TWoM saga.

That’s a great list! I appreciate the suggestion, but I probably will not be adding in opening crawls to my films. If anything, in the future I may animate a new logo for each with the movie title, but I kind of already have my own signature opening style that is already consistent between all 6 TWoM films. I’m a proponent of only having main Saga films have a crawl, and this TWoM saga is a side story.

Film update for everyone:

Book 6 production continues to progress very well! The final 20 minutes of the film are VERY technically heavy to edit, so it’s just taking a long time to get everything built. On my YT you’ll see a couple dozen hours of AE VFX work… The sound mixing in the last 2 episodes is atrocious, so doing a ton of audio work to give every single scene more punch and drama. I am quite close to having the entire film visually completed aside from color grading, and I just have to get a few more Slave 1 rotoscopes, and then add some new characters to the Mandalore ceremony at the end 😉 Then it’s a full audio work pass on the entire movie, then a final bug fix watch on the big screen after a render, send out for a couple previews to other editors for final touch up suggestions, and then release! So still a couple months away from that last part.

I am very happy with what I’ve been able to accomplish on Mandalore. I have written extensively in this thread and spoken on stream about how messy the last 2 episodes are in Season 3, and I’m very proud of what I was able to turn it into and am super excited to share with you all. There are some things that simply aren’t fixable, such as the battle coming to a pretty abrupt ending as it does in the show, there’s just nothing for me to build upon, but specifically the leadup I think has so much more weight now.
