I’ve read up on the whole Domesday thing and the AstroRes method and its quite interesting, like for OVA anime that no film source exists anymore.

It’s not something i can get into because just buying the equipment much less securing the harder to find laserdiscs, I couldn’t find Emissary period in over a year of looking online.

There has been a complete run on all of Kevin Kobos stock since now everyone knows he offers them for the cheapest price. And everyone and their uncle is now into hoarding and collecting Japanese laserdisc.

There is content on laserdisc worth preserving. Mostly music concerts and such, live music orchestra recordings. Music videos, OVA. Most of the reason for laserdisc still even being a thing is for original edits of films and original sound mixes. Plus some shows did get DVD releases but with horrible Mpeg encodes. And never redone.

Deep Space Nine and Voyager do need the fan remasters.
