I’ve got a copy of the Cinema DTS with some open matte version (which might’ve come from this LaserDisc copy, but I was unable to sync it to my 2011 Blu-ray disc (my 4K disc has major DNR). I think the open matte version might be slightly too fast? That or the 2011 Blu-ray is too slow.
The Blu-ray is 3 seconds longer than the Cinema DTS soundtrack, and while it lines up at the beginning, as the movie goes on, it becomes more and more outta sync.
Is there a version of the LaserDisc soundtrack that I can mux into my Blu-ray rip?
I don’t know if the Cinema DTS track is kept in its’ original speed or slowed down a bit to 23.976 fps? That, and the Blu-Ray was sourced from the negatives?
I was looking at my 4K disc (https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Jurassic-Park-4K-Blu-ray/200256/) and saying “hmm… This has a lot of DNR”, and then somehow found out about this 2011 Blu-ray (https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Jurassic-Park-Ultimate-Trilogy-Blu-ray/24947/) having better video quality.
Not sure how it was sourced though. I believe the open matte version was a 35mm film scan.
I tried again last night, re-syncing the Cinema DTS to the 2011 Blu-ray, and yeah, the timing is almost a few seconds off by the end. Haven’t tried against my 4K rip.
