hi guys i have been getting ALOT of tips from our own Citizen(Thank you for all the help and fast replies),but lately my emails have been bounced back to me and i am stuck,so i am going to see if any one here can give me some help,so here goes:
i was told that NTSC DV has poor chroma compression,so i was told to use
the chroma smoother filter built-in to VirtualDub,now when i use this there are settings these are the settings:
VirtualDUB v1.6.11

Filter: Chroma Smoother

Source Color Space:
4:4:4 (Disable Chroma Smoothing)
4:2:0 (MPEG-1)
4:2:0 (MPEG-2, MPEG-4)
4:2:2 (MPEG-2)
4:1:0 (Indeo)
4:1:1 (NTSC DV)
which one do i use,the 4:1:1 NTSC DV or the 4:2:2 MPEG-2?
also when i use this it makes my output file HUGE is this right?

secondly i was told to use a GOOD DV codec, well i have what he recommended and installed it,but how do i make sure that is what is being used and not another?
and he explained very well why i should use the "composite" cable instead of the S-Video,so i have been using "Composite"
I am also going to try and learn CCE,i have 2.66,2.67 and the latest version.

The reason i am wanting to get my captures alot better is because, i just scored, a like NEW, in MINT condition, hardly used, Pioneer CLD-79 ELITE player
so please any help at all would be greatly appreciated
thanks
DJ

also this is the capture software i have been using:
Scenalyzer Live
