Star Trek II the Wrath of Khan Anamorphic first issue DVD. Super grainy picture and its DVD so its highly compressed in picture and audio. The print negative damage and color shift is obvious. I did watch it because unlike the 4K it has the original mix even if it’s in lossy 2.0 Dolby surround format. And i did not want to hook up my old tv and get my laserdisc player working and search for the Star Trek 1-5 box set to find my letterbox copy of ST II.

What about ripping the audio and syncing it to the 4K master? You can extract the video and audio from the DVD to use as syncing reference to the 4K Blu-Ray.

The film The Thunderbolts* is a grand comedic masterpiece that also has heart and actually has a good take on mental health. A must see!

I’m just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe.

Star Wars has 3 eras: The eras are 1977-1983(pre Expanded Universe), (1983-2014) expanded universe, or (2014- now) Disney-bought version. Each are valid.

My movie reviews aren’t AI, they’re just written by someone who’s Neurodivergent. If you don’t like them, then simply don’t read them.

The film The Accountant 2 is a great addition to the series and a must see. It has a respectful depiction of Neurodivergence which has earned it my stamp of approval.

Watched Repo Men (2010) last night. Such an awesome ending but the rest of the movie was filled with ideas and plot lines not fleshed out. Ruined it for me unfortunately.

The 2025 How To Train Your Dragon is the best live action reboot that shouldn’t exist. It’s literally just a shot for shot remake. Nothing new to see here folks. Give this one a pass, unless you’re feeling nostalgic.

Star Trek VI I was disappointed to find that they chose to do 2:39:1 ratio for both cuts of the film seamless branched on the 4K. And the previous 2:00:1 HD transfer was not included as a bonus Blu-Ray. The color timing is also identical, looks like other than the extended scenes they favor the framing and color timing of theatrical cut.
I was hoping they could open the matte for the 4K.

Also, still disappointed in the 7.1 mix and no original audio.

Would it have been impossible to include either the 6 track 70mm mix, or the original Dolby Stereo mix on the film as an option. Instead of the previous Blu-Ray mix.

Others will complain about the lack of Atmos except for TMP directors cut. I want the original 35mm mixes.

I think it was Blade Runner a couple of months back. I’m more of a TV show guy.

Just seen 28 Years Later. A strangely tender film about mortality, slightly ruined by the last few minutes set up for the next installment. If they cut that out it would be an exceptional movie. It’s still good. Think Kes Meets Zombies (only they aren’t really zombies).
